PCB swapped with BIOS but drive still not detected in OS

2TB WD Sata drive from NAS that was not powering on after wrong plug plugged into it. I sent in PCB to get replaced with donor board and swap firmware to new PCB board. Drive now powers on but is not detected in OS. I replaced HD write head with donor write head, the spin sounds nice but still not detected in Windows OS. Any ideas on next steps or what issue is?

How did you match the donor. Have you tried putting the heads back in the donor do they still work?

match provided by donordrives.com. I have not returned the donor write head back into original to test, but can do to test in case of damage during install. Is that what you mean?

Is that what you mean?

Yes, it's highly unlikely that you pulled off a kitchen table head swap without causing damage to the heads or without them picking up crud from an exposed drive. Assuming you have no pro tools the only way to test them is to put them back into the donor.
