Does anyone know the command to regenerate the translator on a Barracuda II?

Are you sure? Did you do a headmap to confirm that it isn't just a bad head?

The drive has 2 heads
It's reading from both heads up to a few 100k sectors, beyond that point cannot read a single sector
unless the density from this point on is getting higher (therfore I would have to replace the heads), I can't think of another solution

Just checked the map
Swithing heads is about every 1k sectors (top), so reading up to a few 100k sectors with no problem means switched heads a few 100 times (atleast)

There where no command for this drive when we worked. Connect the drive with terminal 9600, clear glist and smart, try reverse image.

Ye I've noticed a few commands resulting as an invalid entry, but there are supported commands
I find it hard to believe that cannot regen translator on this one
