bought used 2.5 inch hdd with suspicious sentinel data

December 7th, 2023, 12:26

so, i bought a used 2.5 inch hdd, the seller said that it was from PS4 drive (and proven with the many of unknown partitions when i first plugged it in on my PC). but when i check using hdsentinel program, it shows a suspicious data... it said it was only online for about 99 days, health is 100% and performance is also 100%. i find it suspicious because it's from PS4 drive which was probably from game center which probably run 24/7, but the sentinel data shows a near perfect condition. my question is, how do the seller spoof this data? because i find it hard to believe that a cheap used HDD have this near perfect condition...

what do you base your supposition of it have been run 24/7 on? Ppl are allowed to power down their PS4 when not in use, aren't they?
it was cheap, be happy and move on, you can't really prove that smart data is spoofed, just think it might be. And you get nowhere with that, apart from start looking silly.
