a maxtor 4d040h2 hdd,can not complate its selfscan when power on .i do the steps to repair it.
1,jump safe mode---->power on------>load LDR file----->err--->power off then power on---->load rom---->success---->load modules---->success----->repair modules------>all success----->power off---->jump to master--->power on------>still are bad
2,repeat step 1,but choose head 3,when repair all modules,the plist appear err,then test SA suface,no errs.
3,write 18 module in head 3,power off,jump it to master,power on.OK!
4,repair bad sectors,then erase.
5,work is over.
hope it can help someone,its only repair hdd,not data recovery.because its plist's problem.

I don't understand - the HDD is maxtor 4d040h2 , which means only 2 heads, but you are talking about head 3 !!!! Explain it to me, pls.

it's simple - such drive have 2 phys head, and head has number 2 & 3....
