WD easystore Recovery Unable to use PC3K

July 27th, 2024, 6:13

I have got a 4TB WD easystore USB when connected to windows /linux live it is unable to mount .In pc3k also utility does not start as windows is unable to mount it.
I tried to run r-studio emergency but it also failed. Is there any way to gain access ? DFS DOS shows a subfolder but it is not a data recovery tool.

Is the drive working correctly? Do you have full access to the data area? What does the data area look like in hex? Does it have encryption?

Disk is not getting correctly mounted by windows (may be WD smartware corruption ) or bad sector or FW corruption.
So I cannot open it in PC3K as well . The only solution seems to be to get unlocked PCB's and do the recovery.
Unfortunately I don't have this pcb and only 1GB of personal photos to be recovered.
Considering payout its not worth to buy pcb as client is not going to pay even 5% cost.

It likely works with Deepspar USB Stabilizer 5G and 10G.

Oh great , Deepspar would have done the job without manual intervention bypassing WD smartware as well?
Deepspar is definately my list of future purchases.

Stabilizer prompts with enter password and gives the option to remove it.

Just had one of these old drives a couple weeks ago...even PC3K portable III USB wouldn't load the drive and the drive wouldn't even spin with a SATA pcb after rom transfer.

Connected to stabilizer-10G and imaged with R-studio.
