Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I have had an 8Tb Seagate FireCuda Gaming Hub for several months which has worked fine. I recently added a different (larger) USB HDD to act as my main data storage, and to use the FireCuda as a backup drive.
However, the FireCuda now freezes whenever the desktop goes to sleep - I wake the pc and the FireCuda is unresponsive and then so is File Explorer. The only solution is to disconnect the Firecuda and reconnect.
I have tried adjusting the power settings eg
Power settings advanced:
Hard disk \ Turn off hadrd disk after : changed to Never
USB settings \ USB selective suspend setting : changed to disabled
I have removed the partition and recreated and reformatted the drive
but the problem persists. It never used to do this.
Bought from Amazon, it is outside the return window (though only 5 months so inside warranty).
Has anyone any suggestions on this?
Many thanks

So many hidden annoying settings between the motherboard and windows to check. Test it on another PC. Check your Event Viewer logs for possible faults.
