Anyone know if it is/isn't possible to just transfer the chip on these?

Is this a qualified diagnosis such as you know the pcb has an issue or are you trying to apply the common internet myth that swapping a pcb will solve all problems?

Does this PCB have 4 "ROMs"?

I have someone asking about repair (not recovery) on 2 of these with the connectors and all pads lifted, so swapping to an intact board is obviously preferable to patching them up.

IMO it would be easier and safer to hardwire the power and data lines. But that begs the question, was the drive subjected to physical trauma, and is there a likelihood of internal damage?
