Server SAS 600GB - Power Up Issues [ HUC101860CSS204 ]

February 18th, 2025, 4:54

Hello,
I do Have this tool without DE " Dataextractor " -> https://www.acelab.eu.com/scsi6.php . Yesterday i received 2 hard drives from a server "Hopefully RAID 5 or some variation " . Connection to the tool and powering it up makes the hard drive do some activity like unlocking of some latch or something inside "Not sure whats it " , but none of these hard drives spin .I do understand that some hard drives have power up disabled using the third reserved pin in the 3v3 pin section of power connector or we need to give it a command that it starts spinning .I did not search on Google that yielded a pdf search from hitachi The link is here - >https://documents.westerndigital.com/content/dam/doc-library/en_us/assets/public/western-digital/product/data-center-drives/ultrastar-sas-series/product-manual-ultrastar-c10k1800-oem-spec.pdf . How can i make these hard drives work . I do have a LSI SAS9240-8i Card that i flashed to Host Adapter Mode From RAID . Unfortunately i have the SAS cables given to my student that i am going to ask him to ship back ,Can you help me start these hdd so that i could image them and compete my RAID recovery .I am Attaching Some Images For Your Kind Reference .

PS : I do not think i have this issue -> https://documents.westerndigital.com/co ... le-pin.pdf
