WD10JMVW-11AJGS0 - WD Passport drive issue?

July 29th, 2025, 9:12

Drive
- 1Tb WD Passport
- WD10JMVW-11AJGS0
- USB 3.0 connector
- PCB – 2060-771961-001 Rev A

The drive powers on OK, disk is spinning, ( I can feel spinning when I touch it). White LED blinks ( quite fast). It takes quite a long time ( several minutes) for Disk Manager ( in Windows) before it can find it. The disk manager reports 931.51 GB Raw size. Windows explorer tries to open disk but after several minutes fails, saying the disk needs to be formated.

What solutions could help?
A new board and transfer chips U12 and U14 ?
Slow down fix solution only?
Others?

Thank you for help

Almost surely not pcb related, most probably 'slow responding' or unreadable sectors/weak head, or any combination of these.
