Hi,

I have a Maxtor 6e040l0 wrongly recognised as N40P, i have downloaded a few firmware, but seems no exe file to flash the drive, can anyone help?

Also, please let me know if I have to do any jumper setting on the drive for flashing.

Thank you.

wjackey,

search this forum and others - If you work very hard you will be about a month or so away, at least, from fixing your first N40P (this after u have fcuked up a few that belong to you) ---- trust me.

Of course if u buy PC3K you will wait longer but you will succeed much quicker.

Success!

btw. forget the idea of "flashing" some file with some exe - just does not work that way - the solution needs yr careful attention to fix only what needs to be fixed and even when something appears to need fixing it might be just fine - so you have a lot of work to do - search, search and search some more.
