WD my passport external drive to internal drive

so i bought a 2TB WD my passport drive from goodwill, if i swap the main board with a sata board it should just work right? im not interested in the data on the drive as its not my data. i bought a sata board off ebay but it doesnt show in my system, but it does spin the platters.

you need to move the ROM (U12) from the usb to the sata pcb or read-write the contents, whichever is easier for you.
