Unlocking WD10EURX-63UY4Y0 - Master Password Rev 49047 - Sec

Hello everyone. I don't care about the data, my files were already moved. Just needing to get it unlocked, wiped, nuked, whatever it needs to be usable again.

Drive Details:

​Current Status (from hdparm -I):
​Security: supported, enabled
​Status: NOT frozen

​What I have tried:
I have attempted to perform an ATA Security Erase using hdparm via a Linux Live USB. I have tried the following master passwords (with correct 32-character padding/quotes):

​WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWD
​WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCW
​32 'X's and 32 spaces.
​The Issue:
Every attempt returns: SG_IO: bad/missing sense data. The drive is definitely not frozen, but it rejects these standard WDC strings.
​Does anyone know if this specific revision (49047) uses a different Dell OEM master password or a specific factory string? Any guidance on how to bypass this lock for drive reuse would be greatly appreciated.

The master password has been changed by the person or device that hosted this HDD.
It's unlikely that anyone knows it. Contact someone with the necessary software (PC3000, MRT, wdmarvel?, etc).

I think the demo version of WDMarvel can unlock WD passwords, assuming that the Vendor Specific Commands are not locked out in this model. HDDSuperTool (freeware) also has a script for this purpose.

Hey, so.. it may be strange but i found this theme because i've been trying to remove ata password from the exact same hdd as you have, and they even have the same master password revision codes. I in fact have five of them. Not sure if it is still relevant for you, but I did manage to remove ata passwords from two of them,. you need to use the Drevitalize EFI utility. You can boot the drev410x64.efi directly from a FAT32 USB drive in UEFI mode. You can find this Drevitalize tool in DLCBoot, but for some reason when i booted from a USB drive with DLCBoot it wouldn't let me in UEFI mode, but instead only show windows pe editions, so i had to manually copy drev410x64.efi onto a fat32 drive and then i let me there. Writing all of this so you can skip steps i had to take. Then you choose the 7th option called features or something like that and the vendor specific ata password reset will be there as the last option. It worked for two of the five of my WD HDDs and i honestly still don't know why it didn't for the rest, on one of them there was an error trying to remove it, and with two of them i just couldn't access "features" option because "the drive does not support ATA commands", strange but ok.
