Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hello everyone, I have this SSHD st1000Lm014 that doesn't spin. I did some readings and wondering if there is any DIY solutions for this. I can provide more readings if needed.
Some details: st1000Lm014 - 1ej164-071
FW: Lvd3
For some reason, I cannot upload the photo here, when I click on 'add file' it simply refreshes the page. So here is the link:

In an ideal world you need to connect a serial cable to read what the terminal is saying to diagnose it as those models suffer from failures of the SSD part of the drive.

yes, I am wondering if anything can be done with the supply voltages or with ch341a, ROM wise

No. Reading the ROM or adjusting voltages is not going to do anything that will tell you what is wrong with the drive.
Ideally connect serial port and then you can read from the terminal what the drive is doing as it tries to start up.
The Seagate SSHD drives fail to spin when the NAND flash for the SSD has failed. So ideally you need to know this first.

I never said anything about adjusting the voltages. So it requires ROM unlocking, thanks for the source

So it requires ROM unlocking
no, it does not.

they perform unlocking patch in the blog post. If not, can you please elaborate?

because that link is for rosewood sshd (family 8C), which needs unlocking. But this model is Kahuna (family 72), which does not.
