I have a 18 mo old Maxtor 60gb diamondback hd with a 3 year warranty,
which I can access thru w98se explorer, but which has many bad sectors.
I can't copy data over to a slave drive effectively.
How do I use MaxHDD to repair the bad sectors?
Thanks,
Paula

Well, just run MHDD and do a scan (F4)
If you get a large amount of "X" in red then maybe some problems.
If you notice that "X" are at some fixed interval apart then bigger problems.
If you get a few scattered "X", you should get past these with using right arrow on keyboard then there is good chance.
You said you want to copy the data, so I assume you need the data.
Tell us how the above proceeds, also if you get "!" or anything.
"diamondback" ? - you working in a snakepark ?
