Seagate ST24000DM001 firmware unlock

Good morning, recently obtained a 24tb drive that spins and show signs of rear write activity. based on the information i acquired the translator on the plates appear to be the culprit for the no BIOS/Windows detect, with some more research i ran into a brick wall of Seagate locked the firmware so no F3 terminal commands, has there been any development in a DIY patch for the lock status or i have a $150.00 paperweight, any and all help is appreciated.

Hey, is it that cheap indeed? 150 for a 24TB disk over there?
As i wrote in other threads, these can be unlocked even without expensive tools, but of course, that's a steep learning curve. There are some of these drives even pc3k cannot unlock, i had to develop my own solution for those. So yes, it likely remains a paperweight unless you sell it for parts or return under warranty.
Moreover, assuming it is a translator problem is also a mistake at this stage, drive would need proper diags.
