Resetting bad sector's (logical/OS table)

June 15th, 2005, 10:46

I read in the FAQ that in order to do this; I must:

1. Use DiskEdit to remove bads from yout file system
2. Try partinion magic's "Bad secotrs recheck"
3. Repartition your hard drive.

1. & 2. are expensive (Norton, Partition Magic are not owned by me)

3. I'm trying to avoid this -- as that would require a reinstall.

Any ideas on other alternatives?

Thanks
