mhdd will work i know

Thanks a lot guys,
i know that mhdd will do it. I was just asking that i would be able to do it without stoping the spindle or not.

For your refence i did something like it.

1. I boot the system with mtl.
2. Did the hot swap without stoping the spindle.
3. Re-Scan the disks. MTL shows the data of the disk ( but the serial number was of the previus disk ). So, i think it was successful.

Your thoughts ?

step 1. - wrong

step 2. - wrong

step 3. - if the drive reads - wrong data.

Read procedure again and stick to it - exactly.

Even then you won't get correct data.
Procedure is not intended to get data recovery.
Procedure is intended to give possible opportunity
to access firmware.

Further step 2 - gives good chance to destroy pcb
and maybe some hda components.

Hi, Fujimax,

I used HS to access the data itself if the FW was so corrupt it seemed to be impossible to repair.
It is pretty useful if one has a good SW to rebuild the sector structure.
I have written one, not too professional, but it never leaved me in trouble.

Hi Pepe,
