General question about loaders and etc..

August 12th, 2005, 17:33

Hi guys.. Good looking forum with some knowledgable people!

I have a maxtor drive being detected as the notorious ROMULUS family instead of the proper model #. Everything I've read says it's a firmware error in the drive and reflashing it should correct it, at least temporarily. Which would be good enough in this case.

My question is this, I have a .rar file with the .ldr and .ram and .rpm files for this drive, but what do I use to write them? I've looked around on the mhdd site quite a bit, but dont see any references on how to write the loader files and so forth? Is there something simple I'm overlooking? :)

Thanks a bunch.

hi,
perhaps you would need PC3K to write these to the drive OR any guru here to help you out using mhdd.
