General question about loaders and etc..

Hi guys.. Good looking forum with some knowledgable people!
I have a maxtor drive being detected as the notorious ROMULUS family instead of the proper model #. Everything I've read says it's a firmware error in the drive and reflashing it should correct it, at least temporarily. Which would be good enough in this case.
My question is this, I have a .rar file with the .ldr and .ram and .rpm files for this drive, but what do I use to write them? I've looked around on the mhdd site quite a bit, but dont see any references on how to write the loader files and so forth? Is there something simple I'm overlooking?

perhaps you would need PC3K to write these to the drive OR any guru here to help you out using mhdd.
