Mhdd - test hdd under "extreme" conditions

May 24th, 2004, 21:44

Does mhdd 2.9 have a command to make a "through" cyclic test in the hdd? (reading/writing, need to run for at least 4 hours)

The ideia is to test very "unstable" hard disks, that manifest defects only after some hours of extreme usage. If it does not have, can someone point me to a good hdd "burning-test" software.

Not a big deal.
Place your drive into plastic package box with holes for interface and power cables. This will cause fast temperature grow. Then write a batch file, where you can place everything you want (probably cx, erase, scan).

PS I prefer to do it by hands, not batch: cx for some hours, then look up temp. and start scan.

overdrive
I wander, what will have happen with this poor hdd in that case? Is it become extremaly warm fast and this will may cause of it death? Or maybe this hdd will stay alive?
