Need firmware/loader for maxtor 4D040H2 - DAH017K0

December 25th, 2005, 17:07

Hi all,

Can anyone help me to get the required program and firmware to fix this drive. The BIOS recognises it as ROMULUS, and from reading current posts this means the firmware is corrupted. I have searched the web and found various firmware files, but I have more difficulty in finding the correct loader.

Any additional instructions required would be much appreciated.

TIA.

About "loader"

Loader is a .ldr file that is used by PC3000 or a similar program to make accessible a drive with damaged Service Area (SA). Just after that you can examine and repair SA. Nobody can give you simple instuctions how to impement such a repair. You'll need much knowledge, experience and expensive software for this.
