Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hello and thank you for having such a good web site and forum!
I have a quick question please.
I have a Western Digital WD1200JB - 75CRAO which is "dead". It spins up but you can't hear seeking sounds. BIOS only SOMETIMES finds it but it is never found in Windows....
I have been told it is a firmware probem...
Does your software enable me to repair it so that I can use it as a secondary drive on a working machine AND RECOVER the data on the three partitions that were on it???
I really hope so - any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!
Best wishes
Harry

You need a specialist to fix a firmware problem with your drive. And it will cost you (much) money. Unless you've got a very important information on the drive, it's better to buy a new one right now. You'll save much efforts, money and time.
