I need help whit WD800BB SABRE ROM MODEL

I have problems with this disk.

With PC3000 PCI it sends message to me "WD tecno key error", I have tried to change the PCB but I do not work. I do not have tools to open the disc or to make change of head.

They can give a solution me, thanks

Now is it WD, or Maxtor?
Since Sabre is maxtor.
BTW why don't U ask at ACElab's forum if U have the tools?

the disc is a Digital Western Caviar Model wd800BB-88jhc00. But the disc in the bios is recognized like "WD SABRE ROM MODEL" with 40GB capacity, when this it is of 80GB. Later is inaccessible, is very similar to the problem with the maxtor when the bios recognize them like calypso, ares, etc..

Please Help me...

hi ML,

do you check it with MHDD WHAT did it show ?

try use it DIRECT PORT ACCESS, bypass BIOS ..

MAY BE HPA SET TO 40GB......

IF HPA SET SHOW HPA IN MHDD ....

TRY NHPA COMMAND TO SET HDD ON FACTORY HPA SETTING.....

The drive cannot initialize fully and it reports only the drive model (information stored in ROM, not in Service Area). MHDD cannot help in this case.

"WD tecno key error"- SuperOn send error, possible You use utility not for this drive
You must use PC3000 PCI WD Marvell utility
"WD SABRE ROM MODEL" - SA initialize error, it`s not fully initialize mode or "safe" mode, like in Maxtor drives, however for these WD-drives loader not need

Zdarovje dla vsjoch, samije bolsije servismani. Ja iz Czechiji. Izvinites mena za etu specijalnuju formu ruskovo jazyka, ja ponimaju choroso po russki, no dla mena est ocen slozno pisat azbukoj.

U menja HDD WD800BB-55JKA0. BIOS ego detekujet kak WDC ROM MODEL--SABRE--.

Na etom HDD nikakije data, kotoryje dla mena vaznyje, no jest menja zalko etot HDD vygnat. Ja procital eti ssylki

i celyj manual k MHDD, no resenije, kak možno etu probljemu resit, ja nikde nezískal.

U menja net PC3000, s kotorym, ja dumaju, mozno sdelat remont. No u menja jest jesco odin ten samyj disk WD800BB-55JKA0, kotoryj rabotaet choroso.

Jest možno sdelat remont? Naprimer s MHDD (kak pisetsa zdes)? Spasibo za pomosc.
