Hi there any ideas how to access this drive? i've been reading around the forums and seems to be a translator problem? mhdd scan reports a bunch of "SSSSSSSS".

HI, IT TRIES THIS SOLUTION!
25 - module contain tranaslator ( critical for data protection )
29 - SMART
2D - SMART

very often is enough to overwrite
only smart module (29 , 2D) and
after that action ALL other previously damaged module become OK

How do i overwrite smart module (29 and 2D) ? do i need pc3000? or can it be done some other way?

How about your data?it's dangerous to data recovery if u overwrite module, my experiences it make damage . (u must have many the same spesifications firmware to be donor).

Well, i was able to regain access to this drive using a very nice piece of software that yudi was kind enough to supply, and i was able to retrive pretty much all of the data on it. Thanks yudi!!

Indeed was a translator problem, fixed by regeneration/reload the translator from the P-List.
