ConnerTech (ExcelStor) CT210 - terminal

May 7th, 2006, 7:11

Hello,

After getting to know the possibilities of serial terminal in Seagate/Conner drives, I have started to search for other drives with similar features. Unfortunetaly apart from Seagate I have no documentation about termial and commands of different drives.

I have found that Samsung drives are equipped with terminal, but it is more a debugger rather than service tool that can be used for example to repair a drive. (Or maybe I am wrong?)

Next family I started to play with was ConnerTech/ExcelStor. Till now I have written a "documentation" (_http://roodzeek.w.interia.pl/connertech.txt). I would appreciate any help in further exploring serial terminal on this (and other) drive(s).

Another family I started to play with is 2,5" Toshiba - but there is a different post about it. :?

The reason I am so interested in serial terminal is that it allows simple low level control over the mechanics of the drive (well, at least Seagate terminal).

PS: To Admin - is there a possibility to add attachements to posts on this forum?
