Maxtor DM8 6E040L07 problem

May 15th, 2006, 15:56

Recently i found a lot of bad sectors on my 40Gb maxtor.I tried to fix them in MHDD with erase, then scan+erase waits, and then scan+remap. When I finished scan it looked ok.then I shout down Hdd and started it again and when i started scan+erase waits again i had a lot of W-s.Again when that scan was finished the W-s were gone. But again when I restarted Hdd there were back. And of course in smart att relocated sectors are full now so i can't do remaps.

Is it posible to fix this somehow?Or is this Hdd gone with the wind.
