MAXTOR Romulus faulty firmware how to fix it?

May 15th, 2006, 18:20

I cannot seem to understand the procedure to get the firmware back up and running on this hard drive, I have not found the tools to load or unload a LDR file, nor do I understand what these files are exactly. If someone would enlighten me on the matter it would be highly appreciated.

Here is my Hard Disk Information, I need to get it back up to get the data from it!

Maxtor
Model : 4D080H4
HDA : 24A
PCBA : 05A
Unique : 41A
Code : DAH017K0
Current firmware read on the drive is DAH017KZ (Only thing I could get)

Bios reports Maxtor Romulus, size 0MB, cannot access drive at the moment. Please let me know if anyone knows how to reset or correct the firmware and where I can find the files to do so.

You may leave me an answer here or preferrably on my email s024rt@busdep.com

Thank you all!

Jay-rulz unfortunately nobody can make you understand, if you do not want to.
Maxtor 540DX-4D in fact is a bit harder for repair...
Probably the best solution for U is to send it to some data recovery centre.
imho
