i believe that a HDD e.g. 80GB has a 2gb partition for recovery. if i use the HDD guru wipe tool will it wipe my HDD partition and if it does how will i format the pc and create a partition for the recovery sector.
but if i make a partition i should not be able to see it in "my computer".
i have one the erase on a 80gb hdd and when i try to recover the hdd it comes with an error message and the manufacturers of the pc say there is a problem with the recovery partition. how can i solve the problem.

Software such as hdd wipe tool will erase all partitions including any "hidden" partitions.

i have erased my hdd and then i wanted to do a recovery using the recovery disks. why cannot i recover my hdd with the recovery disks.
the pc i have is a packardbell i media 5094 bought in febuary 2003 and no extended warrenty.

There are different types of system recovery disks. They can restore a system from the recovery partition or restore the recovery partition itself. Cheap-ass vendors do not supply a recovery disk that actually has recovery data on it and is able to do the latter. Such a disk contain nothing more than needed to boot and copy the data already on the HD. In that case, tough luck.

i have erased my hdd with HDD guru and i use file recoverer to see if the eraser has erased correctly. i erased the hdd with hdd guru and then scanned it with file recoverer ant it seemed that the data had gone, but even if you just format the drive and not erase the data and then scan the hdd with the recovery software the data will not be seen. therefore which is the most safeist hdd guru or formating the hdd.

please tell me if this maked sence or not?????? as it is getting to my head as well

If you just format a HDD, then all the data will be still recoverable...

i have formatted the drive leaving the data on and tried to see if the software recovers the data and the software does not. the software i am using is called file recoverer by pctools.com

Then either the software you mentioned is crap or it is not designed to perform data recovery. Try some good software, such as R-Studio.

thanks maysoft for r-studio i would like to know if there is any other top rated highly recommended recovery software e.g. like r-studio any other software which can recover files, and also if there is erasing software such as hdd wipe tool, eraser etc available on the internet
