Hitachi DKR2E-J14FC

July 28th, 2006, 11:32

Hello to everybody,
i purchased an Hitachi DKR2E-J14FC which is labeled also as DK32EJ-14. It is a FC drives but can be considered as SCSI device.
It came with a 520 bytes/sector format size and with ScsitoolBox32 i've changed the sector size to 512 needed by windows. The problem is that even if the drive seems to be ok, when i try to initialize it or make any write operation it goes off-line and therfore it's not usable. I've spent a lot of time looking on web to have information but without results.
Has someone idea on how i can solve this problem? I believe this is i firmware issue. Where may i find a firmware update for this drive?
P.s.
I own some firmware for segate scsi and fc drives, how can i upload these files to share them?
Thanks in advance

Hello Stefano de Martini,

we have the same problems with our Drives from Hitachi (DKR2E-J14FC), we can formated in lowlevel from controller (Qlogic 2312) but no format or init from OS. Have you find some results to fix this problem or a workaround ?

Thanks in advane
