August 4th, 2006, 9:05

I have this seagate 30gb hdd

Model : ST93015A
FW: 4.07

I need to replace the pcb, as my hdd is not recognized by the bios, and it makes clicking sound.

I coudnt find any 30gb replacements. What should i do ?
can i purchase a 40gb and give it a try.

Hi,

I am sure that the FW version is neccessary to be the same, but I don't know if it is enough, I have never needed to replace PCB of such drive, but usually seagates work with PCBs of the same FW version.
