there must be a firmware update tool for WD.
i found firmware file on this forum for my drive in WD section:
WD800BB-00DKA0 77.07W77.rar
but how do I update it?

that firmware file needs the pc3000 to write on the drive if u dont work professionally then buy a new drive bcz pc3000 i going to cost u alot ..

Your hard drive has changed its name because the service area is damaged and some information stored there cannot be read. For this reason the drive report the default name stored in a Flash chip on the PCB.

Just like friends said You need specialized hardware to change Your firmware.
PC3000 is good but very very expensive.
Cheaper one is Salvation Data HDDoctor for WD (490$)
There is one available firmware upgrading utility for WD drives but it WILL NOT work in your case, because Your drive name has changed (it works only when drive is properly recognized by BIOS, and You just want to upgrade firmware of valid drive to newer version).
