Seagate momentus Media degradation

November 28th, 2006, 18:39

Does anyone know this and can confirm this?

Seagate Momentus 40Gb drives, model numbers ST94019A & ST94011A, and Seagate Momentus 30Gb drives, model number ST93012A, with media degradtion problems .

All ST94019A drives that we have seen with media degradation begin the serial number with the characters 3KW.

So if is media if u replace heads the problem could be still the problem , so media could be SA problems??

I've had recently that problems too.
I've received a lot of Seagate Momentus drives, some of them I can still recover most of data, but not all.
