Seagate Uxx Error

February 2nd, 2007, 7:24

Hi guys

I have an seagate hdd ST320014A which just died without no reason....
The terminal looks like this:

Interface task reset 1024k x 16 buffer
C1 - ST310014A(S)
ROM.01.04
Key 01h Ld, Rev 03.04.0072.17
Key 0Ch Ld, Rev 6E.C1.02.75
Key 09h Ld, Rev 01.B0
Key 0Eh Ld, Rev 0F.00
Key 01h Ld, Rev 03.04.0072.17

T>Age=01 Type=F0 MxCyl=0088B8 MxHd=0 MxSct=000 BSz=0800 TCode=0000 Ovly=0081

Anyone knows what this error means?...and why the model is now ST310014a? May be one bad head?

Thanks

Ok, so nobody knows..... :(

I saw on the file archive a fw. backup for this hdd and downloaded from there...i rewrite the key 01h with a file from that backup and now the terminal says:

Interface task reset 1024k x 16 buffer
C1 - ST310014A(S)
ROM.01.04
Key 01h Ld, Rev 03.04.0072.17
Engver Mismatched
Engver Mismatched
Key 0Ch Ld, Rev 6E.C1.02.75
Key 09h Ld, Rev 01.B0
Key 0Eh Ld, Rev 0F.00
Key 01h Ld, Rev 03.04.0072.17

So i think that not the listed keys are the problem.....then where is the problem???.....does anyone know?....

Thanks

why you overwrite key?
first you should change age to .. and set head type...(but now you should rewrite that key with original if you have backup of that and do this)
