Hi

Another N40P problem: at first, drive was having some bad sectors, i do logical scan in pc3000 isa and found, between 33000000-34000000 LBA, about 1000 bads. Add them to g-list and regenerate translator but here is the problem : when regenerate translator, it says that is complete succesfuly but in error register i can see that ABRT it lights....so i think that the operation isn't succesfuly done.

I checked the SA modules, all seems to be ok, checked grup of modules , all it's ok but where is the problem?.....could it be some garbage in modules?....

Thanks

You don't need to regenerate translator after adding defects to G-List.

Bad sectors can occur due to alot of problem sometimes they occur just like that that could be removed by victoria or MHDD sometimes it occurs due to firmware problem and sometimes by scratches on the platter they can be fixed by pc3k . What kind of bad sectors do u want to repair.
