Samsung SP1604N - Bad S-List

February 27th, 2007, 14:08

Hi all,

Samsung drive... New to me, don't see many.

It spins up then down, but if I enter PC3000 utility, ignore error and issue "hard reset", the drive becomes ready.

Exit utility and re-enter, drive is ID'd OK with correct model, S/N etc.

But logical scan had loads of errors. So i create image anyway, and image is patchy and has big blank places.

Now, I these things have a dynamic translator, so I checked the S-List and it's unreadable from any head.

Anything I can do with this?

Sean
