IBM self scan

I have a IBM DTLA drive i started selfscan on it now i dont know how to stop it . Please tell me how to stop self scan on ibm drive . on isa when i press stop selfscan option it says short the nvram after hdd is off this is a very small instruction can some one please guide me to what i should do because i have already shorted the 5th and 6th pins of NVRAM still self scan not stop .

I just to re-write the nvram that I backuped before selfscan under safe mode. Then run normal mode and as soon as the disk gets ready, I write the original firmware. The procedure may be redundant in some sense, but it worked for me.

thanks for reply but i have read that u have to short 5-6 points of nvram have u tried that doesit work . i will try what u said and give u update .
