Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi Friends,
my name is Andy from Indonesia. I'm looking for any seller that might have this following PCB board for my hard disk. Below is my drive's specifications:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7
200 Gbytes (Parallel ATA)
Model : ST3200822A
P/N : 9W2844-301
HDA P/N : 100314751
Config : A5C-08
Firmware : 3.01
Site Code : TK
(Product of Thailand)
One component was burnt because of power failure. I'm pretty sure that the inside of the drive is ok (hopefully)

It's full of my families digital photos, will take ages for me to scan it one by one. Looking forward for replies...and thank you.
Cheers,
Andy

Hi gsimon,
thank you for your reply.
Actually I don't know what it is called. It's a small black "thing" with 2 connectors on it. Becam a bit ugly in shape (that's where the smoke came out). So I think I will need to replace the whole board. Do you have any idea where I can find it?

Hi,
that's probably the TVS, it become shorted by a power surge.
try desoldering it and power the drive afterwards to see if it works (probably it will).

Hi,
Transient Voltage Suppressor.
I'm not familiar with electronic components..Thanks in advance...
But in this case it might not be the best solution for you to touch the board...
