Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I got two Seagate Microdrives from eBay several days ago. None of them can be recognized on my PDA or digital camera, yet it works through usb card reader on my desktop. Someone says its CF function is disable and only IDE function works because it is designed for MP3 player exclusively.
Is it possible to unlock those drives by software? Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

i saw a website that unlocks the drives online , while its attached to your pc , you can pay them by pay pal , 2-3$ per drive , it worth trying ,the good thing is that the diagnosis is free , so you wont lose nothing , if it wasnt supported

I really appreciate your instruction; however, my drives are not locked by password while some of their function is locked by firmware.
