Modifying GLIST

March 18th, 2007, 7:30

U must have noticed that there is a size for GLIST that it can occupy sectors can i change that size so that it can occupy more and more sectors . I have both pc3k isa and pci so u can guide me from both ways .

thanks in advance .

It will change by itself when you remap new bad sectors.

March 18th, 2007, 11:45

no that will change the size to smaller like if the capacity of the glist is 670 and if i remap 70 badsectors the capacity becomes 600 sectors but what i want to do is change the size of the glist module from 670 to 2000
so it can remap or occupy more bad sectors .

No you can't, since the size of module is limited.
You can only change the place.

What do u mean by change the place ?

March 18th, 2007, 14:25

Change the place where the realocated sectors would be taken.

I don't think you understand what defect list is :)
Just run Complex Test in Universal utility and assign defects after it. They will all go to G-List.
