Seagate Barracuda 7200! formating stop at 10%! now no disk!

Hi! this is my first posting in this forum, well i hve a problem, i wanted to load the operating system in my new hard disk whihc is seagate barracude 7200, 500gb! while installing XP, i choose the wrong format type (the slow one) and the formattimg went ok till 10% then it never moved for along time, so i restarted the system and now it gives an error " error no operating system found" !
i tried making it slave & cdrom as master & booting it but it says the same error! could anyone tell me wht am i supposed to do to rectify this problem?

Is your hard disk is getting detected in Bios. if not then check it i.e power connection. and data cable connection
