i have maxtor 6y120l0 the pcb had bad ic power we changed it it works but the serial dosent appear and firmware end with letter z in maxtor utility and i cant start utility i loaded ldr file it makes the firmware good and z letter gone but still no serial and when try to start utilty it gives me error message " maxtor technican error ........" when try to restart hdd using internal sa program 1 or 2 it fails i changed the rom with new one but from 6y80l0 pcb it still the same when i load ldr the z is gone and when reset hdd z is back so what to do ?

Does it enter the utility after u have changed the ROM chip using LDR ?

Why did you put on ROM from 6Y080L0?
Why not the ROM from the original board?

i thought the problem in original rom so i switch it with other one but still the same and does the ldr loaded in sa or in ram

There is never problem in the ROM . Rom is changed when change pcb so it matches the firmware code of the hdd . The utility does not enter this hdd bcz
there may be a fw problem or errors in uba .[/b]

You should update your PC3000 PCI to a newer version.
