What are You talking about? What's the point? Could You explain in details please?
Thank You!

Selfscan can be run i two ways :

1) From the script on the on pc3k pci the hdd must be connected to the hdd for that purpose and for running selfscan from script u should edit id89h and disable it so it doesnot restart .
2) Another method is that u save the selfscan to hdd and disconnect from pc3k pci and connect it to a external power supply u may connect a LED for monitoring it .

But both ways id 89h must be NOP, so what's the point, if Ss have been run immediately or from ID?

No if u save to hdd u dont have to edit selfscan script .
if u save to hdd then after the step id89h the hdd starts selfscan from the point where it left .

You mean to leave it "as is" with no change at all and save it or?
I really did not understand, why is needed to restart the Ss at all?

its a factory process that checks that hdd can restart or not and continues process from from where it left or not .
