Simple programmer does many IC's is at http://www.mcumall.com I have used to repair lots of motherboards when bios dead.

I wonder if anyone has tried hotswap write rom for HDD PCB's For example for WD start with PCB and solder socket in place of rom chip. Replace rom chip in socket and start in safe mode. Pull rom chip and replace with a new one you want to flash. Write with PC3000. Now you have repaired rom for a PCB with dead rom chip.

This is possible with motherboards, I think a new project for the near future.
