After scanning...A few q's before doing anything stupid

May 9th, 2007, 15:15

I downloaded the CD-ROM image of MHDD and burned it onto a bootable CD. After scanning the disk with MHDD I found that I couldn't access the logs (of course). Since I am using a notebook, I am not quite sure how to solve this problem. Perhaps extract the MHDD archive onto another disk, connect it with the computer by USB, and get into MS-DOS before Windows is started (by pressing F8 )?

Another question: It seems my notebook's hard disk has a few UNCs. Shall I back up my data and try ERASE, then SCAN+ERASE WAIT, then SCAN+REMAP now?

UNC can be remaped no need for data backup .
