Checking of disc FM structure doesn't tell me anything
SA surface checking:
DATA, COPY1 BAD
OVL COPY1 OK
SELF SCAN OK
SWAP1 OK
SWAP2 BAD
DEFECTLOG OK
DATA COPY2 BAD
OVL COPY2 OK
... OK
... OK

how can i know wich module i must to write to SA?

June 4th, 2007, 11:22

One of the modules in DATA COPY2 modules group is bad. To know which one precisely you need to check modules, not modules groups.

June 4th, 2007, 12:08

i'm sorry i'm noob
One of the modules in DATA COPY2 modules group is bad. To know which one precisely you need to check modules, not modules groups.

how?
and data copy1?and swap2?

June 4th, 2007, 13:44

i have downloaded it from net (with .ldr file)
but i don't know in practice how i can check the modules
mayby i must type "Reading of modules"?mark all modules and try to read?

i have done this...all modules give me an error

June 4th, 2007, 18:45

so...i'm tring to understand
SA surface checking:
copy1 uba=$0008 size=$04bo
uba=8 uba=164-190 error 04h

swpa2 uba=$45ao size=$0190
uba=18123-18130 error 04h

copy2 uba=$48c6 size=$04bo
uba=18630 uba=18786-18812 error 04h

not sure that error is o4h for all...tomorrow i check it (in italy now it's 0.42 am) good night :wink:

June 5th, 2007, 6:58

now i can see the report of fw structure

how can i understand what modules are damaged?

maybe i must check the column rd??i must to write the modules with "-"?

June 5th, 2007, 13:28

i don't know why :D :D :D but now bios show the hard disk correctly...but doesn't seems to be all good now

boot from hard disk interrupt at the middle (debian gnu/linux ext3)
i'm tring to see the partition from another hard disk...the partition table is ok!!but i don't be able to read the data inside the most important partition for me

any suggest?

well, to be honest, I don't think that your problem is solved yet. You need to execute "read Modules" command using PC 3000. This will create several .rpm file in the root directory of PC 3000 (I'm assuming you're using the ISA version).

In the created directory [MXPKRMOD], you will see inside the folder several files named .bad. These are the modules you must replace with the good ones taken from a functional drive. But be very careful, You should not overwrite modules which controls the "adaptive settings" (Class A modules)

After you find the correct modules for replacement (and you know which ones to write and which are not to write), you can execute the write modules command using PC 3000 Maxtor Poker Utility again.

After you have written them, you should do the SA Testing again and make sure everything is OK.

Good Luck...

u can use the SA structure test to check for bad modules it gives u a whole log report if u are not able to understand it u can post the log here .
U can save the log report using F2.
