Maxtor D540X-4K head measurement technique

August 19th, 2004, 22:49

Hi board users

I have one question for you all:

Quantum/Maxtor D540X-4K has two set of pins conecting the logic board and the HDA. One is a four pin set, wich conects to the motor. The other (40 pin, if i remember well) conect the rest of the internal equipment(head, voice coil, pre-amp and some other components)

I ask if someone know the pinout for this drive?

I know that it is possible to diagnose the pre-amp chip and the head from the external side by measuring their resistances. Can someone share this information?

Best regards,

-BR-
