Terminal settings for Conner CP2064 for PC3000 Dos

Hi,

I have a defective CP2064; it calibrates and can be detected by the bios, but is not accessible. I would like to connect it to PC3000 for dos to use the terminal, but whatever setting I try, I cannot get a connection.
Unfortunately, the manual has no documentation about how to connect the 2.5" drive to the terminal. Can somebody help ?

Dobre, you should have PC3000 PCI, right?
Try to connect it the same way as all other seagates and check the terminal.

I did starling, but i get the message the drive is not supporting LBA and it refuses to continue.

You can enter Seagate utility with another drive, then power it off, connect your conner and power on to see what it gives you into terminal.

OK, i tried that, but nothing appears in the terminal. With the seagate drive i get the normal messages.

Isn't it possible the conner uses other settings ?

This found i changed the jumpers on the adapter board to:

where oo is jumpered.

Now i get messages in the terminal

somebody knows what this mean ?
I still cannot access the data.
DE refuses to access the drive since it does not support LBA; not even to make an image.

Any suggestions ?

Maybe some sort of early encryption/password?

The symptoms are similar to a P/W protected drive.

I don't know, only a suggestion?

No, I found out allready that 'Data lock' is normal. Has nothing to do with password.
In the mean time i managed to get the data off the drive with 'very' old software on an even older system.

U must have needed a 386/486 based PC to read that load of junk

This drive probably does not support LBA mode
You have to work in CHS and you have to put proper parameters in BIOS to work with the drive
Terminal message looks OK

Correct Doomer, a recent motherboard bios will not be able to work with the drive. You need chs support.
I've got some very antique stuff here, even a ZX-80.
However, I dont think i will ever get a recovery-job for that one
