must i replace rom when replace segate pcb?

salam alekm

i have segate hdd with bad pcb i replaced it with exactly same pcb but the hdd spin up but cant be read must i change parallel rom like we do in wetern in serial rom and not that i choosed pcb with same cpu is there any other parameters for choosing new segate pcb

Hi,

Same FW version required.
Otherwise U have to swap ROM provided that the board layout (CPU, motor controller...)is the same.

if hdd does not spin up it does not have anything to do with ROM , check motor for damage.

try cleaning the pins on the connector block and bend the tabs up so they make better contact see if it will spin again. Either that or your donor was no good, or you missed something when you soldered the chip.
