Hello to all hdd guru´s

At your experience when receive a HDD laptop , wich was open it before and find conamination over platter, and fingerprint, what its the best try to clean it, but what is the best to use and not damaged the media ?

Acetone and cotton bud ;-)

HFE7100 is better than aceton
and cotton bud is not good - usually it bleached with chemicals which could stay on platters

You need to use Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) (try to get 99+ percent pure.)

You can also get clean-room swabs which are near-sterile and leave no trace.

However, do not use compressed air to dry; use another, clean swab and evaporation.
