July 5th, 2007, 3:01

I have a seagate drive with a very strange problem , I plug the hdd in Victoria it shows BUSY then after head parks the BSY light disappears and nothing on state and err registor .
Could this be a pcb problem ?

Rameez..........

The very first thing popped up in your mind could be a "Hit On Target". But, I wouldn't like to assume your first guess right on the money. Because, the problem somehow relates with PCB, but may not be the PCB's problem itself. Most probably, the drive has come to you, after experiencing some fancy experiements by some newbie. So, the drive is probably reflecting an incompatible F/W rev. or some other parameters with the PCB. So, I think, the problem should be solved by replacing PCB with the correct one, or playing for a while with the ROM.

If you can post terminal log, I can tell you something more furthur......because right now, it is only a wild guess !

u r right i solved the issue by changing pcb i found a matching donor pcb for that drive but the only thing that pops in my mind is that what was the problem in the pcb voltage was good all resistance had thier orignal value , didnt get to know the problem in pcb , if someone has some advice please discuss .
thanks
