LOOKING FOR HDD CONTROLLER BOARD

Hi , I m actually a teacher and i make people technicians who fix computers. My Problem I have a external HDD DRIVE that someone fried when he plugged in the wrong power adapter. I took the HDD out of its USB casing and it turned out to be a DIAMONDMAX20 ST3160812A 160 GB
When i hooked it up to my Desktop comuter using IDE it did not power up. I think the board is Fried. Can someone tell me with wich one i can replace it or where i can get a comparable one ? Here is the Data :
DIAMONDMAX20 ST3160812A 160 GB S/N 5LS814QB Firmware : 3.AAK

Try to find another DiamondMax 20 with the same model name and Firmware code.
If it doesn't work right away then you will need to swap the ROM chip.
